Upcycled Summer Swap!

It's swap time again in Wisconsin!

This time around the swap will be based on handmade items made from recycled or repurposed goods. The sky's the limit here, you don't have to limit yourself to things you specialize in for your etsy shop.

You can still use new paint, glue, thread, findings, etc. But your focal point of the piece should be from an item that is recycled or repurposed. There won't be a dollar amount or size restriction on the swap, I only ask that you make something as super sweet as you'd like to receive in return.

To make the recycled swap extra special, I encouare you to use recycled packaging as well. Reusing an old bubble envelope or box is cool, but why not take it one step further and make your own? I've included a couple tutorials for ideas. (I especially love the make your own bubble envelope tutorial!)

There are many many sites out there that have ideas for recycled based crafts (and packaging). If your neurons need a little provoking just do a quick search and get inspired!! Here are just a few fun links that might inspire:

There are oodles of project ideas here: http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/recycle/

How to join the swap:
Send me a convo via etsy http://minefull.etsy.com/
With your name, mailing address, and email address.

Sign up deadline is June 20th.
Mailing deadline is July 24th.
Each maker/sender will be responsible for shipping costs.

Once I've received all of the swappers names, I'll let you know who you'll be swapping with by June 21st.

So we can have swap show and tell, please take a picture of the item you make along with your packaging. If you belong to flickr you can post it in the wist flickr group ( http://flickr.com/groups/wist/ ). If you don't belong to flickr we still would love to see what you've made. You can attach a photo or two in a convo to me and I will post it on your behalf.

Now get rummaging through the garbage/closet/local thrift shop and have fun!
